MC Alger and MC Oran emerged as the winners on Thursday in Algeria’s Ligue 1 Mobilis, with reigning champions MCA sprinting out to a 3-0 victory over MC El Bayadh.
In form attacker Zakaria Naidji’s free kick was the highlight of a perfect first half from the defending champions, who left little doubt about the result with a 3-0 lead by halftime.
Ivorian winger Khaled Zunon doubled the lead five minutes after Naidji’s opener in the 15th minute. Zineddine Ferhat added one more goal just before halftime to pile on further misery for El Bayadh, whose relegation to Ligue 2 is only a matter of time.
After a surprise defeat at second place JS Saoura over the weekend, Thursday’s result sees MCA back on track to secure a third consecutive league title. They lead JSS by twelve points now with only six matches remaining.
Earlier in the day, the battle for qualification to continental competition raged on with MC Oran securing a 2-1 victory over MB Rouissat.

After going down 0-1 by halftime, the hosts responded with a fierce rally. Former Algeria international fullback Mokhtar Belkhiter leveled the match less than five minutes into the second half before Chakib Aoudjane won it before the hour mark for MCO (video above).
With five matches remaining, MCO move into third place but will need to maintain winning form to secure their position and a place in CAF interclub competition next season.
