Algerian international Ramy Bensebaini showed impressive form in the Bundesliga on Sunday, leaving his mark with Borussia Dortmund.
Bensebaini started the match in Dortmund’s lineup against Freiburg, playing a key role at both ends of the pitch. The defender made a decisive contribution in the 31st minute of the first half, when he opened the scoring for Dortmund with a shot from inside the penalty area, highlighting his attacking abilities despite his defensive role.

Bensebaini’s goal helped Dortmund secure a draw, a result that sees the Black and Yellows move up to 29 points, sitting third in the Bundesliga standings, level on points with RB Leipzig, who occupy second place on goal difference. Freiburg, meanwhile, raised their tally to 17 points, placing them ninth in the table.
The match also served as another confidence boost for Bensebaini ahead of his international duties. The Algerian defender is set to join the Algeria national team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Algeria will begin their AFCON campaign against Sudan on December 24, before facing Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea on December 28 and 31, respectively, as they aim toachieve the continental glory.
