Reigning champions USM Alger qualified for the Algerian Cup semifinals after edging fellow top flight side JS Saoura 1-0 on Wednesday evening at the Stade du 5 Juillet.
Hocine Dehiri arrived at the near post to flick on Houssam Ghacha’s corner kick service to the far post for right back Saâdi Radouani to apply the final touch for the only goal in the first half. Two weeks after being edged by JS Saoura in league action, the hosts got their revenge to move a step closer to defending their cup title.
The other quarterfinal on Wednesday ended with CA Batna emerging victorious over fellow Ligue 2 club MC Saïda. The Ligue 2 leaders will now face USMA in the semifinals.
On Tuesday, CR Belouizdad knocked off Ligue 1 leaders and reigning champions MC Alger to set up a semifinal clash against CS Constantine.

We very well may see a repeat of last year’s final when USMA defeated CRB to claim the trophy. Both semifinal clashes will take place on April 7, with CA Batna and CS Constantine hosting their respective matches.
