MC Alger earned a valuable home derby victory, defeating CR Belouizdad 2–1 in a rescheduled Algerian Ligue 1 Matchday 1 fixture at the Ali Ammar Stadium in Douira, with a large crowd in attendance.
CR Belouizdad struck first in the 17th minute through Farid El Mellali, who capitalised on poor defensive positioning to give his side an early advantage.
MCA responded quickly, with Sofiane Bayazid levelling the score in the 24th minute after a well-crafted attacking move that ended with a precise finish.
The home side maintained their attacking pressure in the second half and were rewarded in the 81st minute. Substitute Mohamed Salio Bangoura followed up inside the box to net the winning goal.
Belouizdad pushed late on and forced MCA into deep defending, especially after Abdellaoui was sent off in stoppage time, but the league leaders held firm to secure the three points.
The win takes MC Alger to 25 points, extending their lead at the top of the Algerian Ligue 1 table, while CR Belouizdad remain 10th with 14 points.
USM Alger recorded an important away victory, beating JS Kabylie 2–1 under the guidance of coach Abdelhak Benchikha, also in a rescheduled Matchday 1 encounter.
Ahmed Khaldi opened the scoring for USMA in the 42nd minute. JS Kabylie responded through Aymen Mahious, who struck their only goal of the match.
In the 79th minute, Glody Likonza restored USMA’s lead, securing the win for the visitors.
This result lifts USM Alger to 18 points in the fourth place, while JS Kabylie 15 points in the ninth place in the ALgerian Ligue 1 table.
