Algerian midfielder Yassine Benzia has left Azerbaijani giants Qarabağ following the end of his contract.
The former Lyon and Lille star spent two and a half years at Qarabağ. The club decided not to renew his contract after the conclusion of the 2024/25 league season.
Benzia, 30, played 104 matches for Qarabağ and won three league titles. He scored 28 goals in all competitions during his time at the club. Benzia had a fruitful spell, serving as a key player at the heart of their midfield.
Qarabağ, in an official statement, thanked the Algerian international for his contributions and wished him well for the future. Benzia is now attracting interest from clubs in the Middle East.
Benzia represented France at youth level but switched his allegiance to Algeria in 2016.
