Al Masry head coach Ali Maher thinks that his team played a good game in their goalless Group D draw against Zamalek from the fourth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, despite several absences in his squad.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, Maher shared his thoughts:

“We played a good match despite the many absences in our squad. Today’s match was extremely difficult, and Zamalek’s experience made the challenge even tougher. Our players rose to the occasion despite the intense match schedule.”

“I trust in the ability of Al Masry’s players to win the next two matches and qualify for the quarterfinals. Al Masry’s fans gave us great motivation during today’s game.”

“Beninese player Samado is a very promising talent and with more adaptation and experience his performance will improve significantly. Mahmoud Gad is working hard during training and I thank goalkeeping coach Mostafa Fathi for his efforts with the goalkeepers.”

Group D Standings

1. Zamalek – 8 points

2. Al Masry – 5 points

3. Enyimba – 4 points

4. Black Bulls – 4 points
