Ali Maâloul to join CS Sfaxien for a new era

Last-minute negotiations between CS Sfaxien management and Ali Maaloul have resulted in a definitive agreement under which the player will return to Sfaxien on a free transfer.

CS Sfaxien’s efforts to sign left-back Ali Maaloul have paid off, bringing the player back to his home team. If all is completed, Maaloul will return to Sfaxien after nine years, having joined Egypt’s Al Ahly SC in 2016. The 35-year-old Tunisian international joined Al Ahly from CS Sfaxien in 2016.

Maaloul has won the Egyptian Premier League six times, the Egyptian Super Cup five times, and the Egyptian Cup four times with Al Ahly. He has also won the CAF Champions League four times and the CAF Super Cup twice, in addition to winning the bronze medal at the Club World Cup three times.

Maaloul wore the Al Ahly captain’s armband for the first time in his career in a Egyptian Premier League match against El Gouna last May.
