Aliyu Zubairu set to take charge of Plateau United

Nigeria under-20 national team coach Aliyu Zubairu will reportedly replace Mbwas Mangut as the technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Plateau United.

Although Mangut still has a year remaining on his contract, Zubairu is reportedly in advanced discussions with the Jos-based club to assume the role. The club’s management has opted to make a change on the technical bench ahead of the new season.

Zubairu recently confirmed his departure from fellow NPFL side El-Kanemi Warriors, where he spent the last two seasons.

Plateau United concluded the 2024-25 NPFL campaign in seventh place.
