Ethiopia Premier League champions, Ethiopia Insurance, have extended the stay of Ugandan forward Allan Kayiwa by offering him a new one-year contract.
The renewal comes as the club intensifies preparations for the upcoming season, where they will also represent Ethiopia in the CAF Champions League.
Kayiwa was instrumental in Ethiopia Insurance’s title-winning campaign last season, scoring five goals and providing one assist in 22 league appearances. His decisive contributions were crucial, particularly in the closing stages, as the club surged to the championship.
The forward joined Ethiopia Insurance in April last year after a brief stint with fellow Ethiopian topflight side Shashemene City.
Before moving to Ethiopia, Allan Kayiwa featured for several Ugandan clubs including Vipers SC, Express FC, and Soana FC.
Ethiopia Insurance will open their CAF Champions League qualifiers against Zanzibar’s Mlandege FC in the preliminary round. The winner of that tie will face either defending champions Pyramids FC of Egypt or Rwanda’s APR FC in the next stage.
