Allan Mugalu commits future to NEC FC in Uganda with fresh three-year deal

NEC FC have confirmed that midfielder Allan Mugalu has penned a new three-year contract that will see him remain at the club until 2028.

Mugalu’s previous deal expired in June, having initially joined NEC in 2023 from Arua Hill SC on a two-year contract. Since his arrival, he has been a pivotal figure in the heart of midfield, most notably playing a key role in NEC’s run to the Stanbic Uganda Cup final in 2024, where he was crowned Best Midfielder of the Tournament.

His renewal makes him the second player to extend his stay this offseason, following goalkeeper Samson Kirya, who signed a new one-year contract.

NEC have also been active in the transfer market as they prepare for both the Uganda Premier League and their historic debut in the CAF Confederation Cup. The club already unveiled former KCCA and Express FC left-back Mustafa Kizza on a two-year deal, with further additions lined up.

Among the players expected to be unveiled soon are Joseph Sseremba, Charles Waibi, Warren Buule, Titus Ssematimba, Daniel Shabena, and Timothy Muwanguzi.

NEC’s continental journey begins next month when they take on Kenya’s Nairobi United FC in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
