Amad Diallo has won Manchester United’s Goal of the Season accolade for 2024/25. The Ivorian winger’s strike against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium garnered the most votes from the public.
Diallo, 22, beat nine other contenders to claim the prize. His goal came in the Manchester Derby, as United staged a late comeback to earn a 2-1 win over their cross-city rivals.
Diallo collected a long ball from Lisandro Martinez and calmly rounded City goalkeeper Ederson before slotting home from a tight angle. He becomes the 15th winner of the award since its inception in the 2005/06 season, succeeding teammate Alejandro Garnacho.
Amad has scored seven league goals in what has been a disappointing domestic campaign for the Red Devils. Despite this, he has been a key player for Ruben Amorim’s side until a recent injury he is now back from. He now hopes to help United win the UEFA Europa League as they face Tottenham in the final on May 21.
