Amad Diallo’s screamer helped Manchester United salvage a point against Nottingham Forest in round 10 of the Premier League. The Red Devils were trailing 2–1 before Amad stepped in to restore parity with nine minutes remaining at the City Ground.
United started the game with high hopes after a run of three wins in the league. Amad played as a left wing-back in Ruben Amorim’s system, as he needed to balance the team’s offensive and defensive duties. The visitors went ahead in the first half with Casemiro’s header, but the home side turned the result around after the break with two quick goals.
The Ivorian winger then struck from the edge of the box with a delightful volley to level matters for United. He came close to winning it for United, but Nottingham’s center-back Murillo cleared the ball off the line.
After the draw, Diallo told Sky Sports that they were disappointed with the result but backed his coach Amorim. “I don’t know if it is the goal of the season. We are really disappointed to go home with one point. We have confidence now. We believe in the manager and the system. We are trying to do our best. We believe in the manager like he believes in us.”
Amad, 23, bagged his first Premier League goal of the 2025/26 season. Manchester United are fifth with 17 points in the standings.
