Amad Diallo withdraws from Ivory Coast squad for friendlies in Canada

Amad Diallo has been left out of the Ivory Coast national team for an international friendly game in Canada. The Manchester United star was expected to return to the national team roster after missing the March edition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers.

The Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF) revealed that Diallo and Mario Dorgelès will not join up with the national side. Emerse Faé and his squad have begun preparations in Toronto, and Diallo will not be part of the camp. In a statement, FIF confirmed the development:

Diallo traveled to Asia after the conclusion of the Premier League season for two friendly games in Malaysia and Hong Kong. He last played for the Elephants in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying against Chad.

Ivory Coast will face New Zealand on June 7 in Toronto at BMO Field before facing Canada three days later at the same venue.
