Amad: Manchester United media
Ivorian attackers Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo have become the latest Manchester United players to back interim manager Michael Carrick for a permanent job with the team.
The Red Devils have turned the corner under the reign of their former youth team coach, climbing from the middle of the table to a UEFA Champions League place.

United sit in third position, six points behind runners up Manchester City and 15 points adrift of pacesetters Arsenal FC going into the Premier League run-in.
It is quite a jump for Manchester United considering that when Carrick took over from sacked Ruben Amorim in March, they were placed sixth in the standings. The caretaker boss has won seven games, drawn once and lost once in the Premier League.
Such improvement has brightened the mood among the players for the 13-time Premier League champions.
Amad and Mbeumo are among such players. On Tuesday, the duo told the BBC they think the former England midfielder is the perfect fit for a permanent job.
“From a personal view he’s the right man,” said the Ivory Coast international during the club’s four-day training camp in the Republic of Ireland.
“He has a lot of experience; he knows the club and has the DNA.
“His relationship with every player is very good. Sometimes this kind of manager can bring the club where they belong.
“It’s not the players who decide but my honest opinion is we’re really happy to have Michael Carrick as a manager.”
Cameroonian Mbeumo chipped in, saying: “We’ve got good experience with him. He knows how to talk to us and we’re going to try to take as much as we can from him. It’s been easier because he knows the place. It’s been great to work under him.”
Carrick’s caretaker tenure is expected to end at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 Premier League season.
However, there a few critics including the club’s former skipper Roy Keane who feels Carrick should not get the full-time job arguing he is not a proven winner at the top level and there are many options on the market.
