AmaZulu FC coach Arthur Zwane is concerned that his side is yet to produce consistent results despite their latest 1-0 win against Chippa United in a Betway Premiership fixture at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale on Saturday.
Godspower Ighodaro scored the only goal of the game as Usuthu returned to winning ways following their 1-0 away defeat to Stellenbosch in their last assignment. Before facing the Stellies, Usuthu had defeated Richards Bay 1-0.
The mixed performances is worrying coach Zwane, who insists they have been dropping points even when it was unnecessary to do so.
“If you look at the Chippa [United] game, we dominated from the word go, we created chances and against the run of play, we conceded two goals, the same with TS Galaxy,” said Zwane as quoted by FARPost.
“So, it has always been a worrying factor that we’re blowing hot and cold. If you were to take these kinds of performances going forward in terms of character because sometimes you create your own luck.
“When you dig deep, when you push hard, you can do well. But now we live with regrets. We have two games left, and we’re relying on other people to lose. It’s not going to be easy [to reach the top four]. All these games aren’t going to be easy.
“It’s all up to us again, and remember, we’ve played more games than any other team. So, that alone puts us under pressure.”
AmaZulu are currently sitting sixth on the 16-team league table with 33 points from 26 matches. They have secured 10 wins, three draws and suffered 13 defeats.
