South Africa’s top-flight league side, AmaZulu FC, has parted ways with Umbro SA and signed an agreement with Primo as its new technical sponsor.

Sandile Zungu, the president of Usuthu, as AmaZulu FC are affectionately called, announced the three-year sponsorship with Primo on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Zungu thanked Umbro for supporting the Durban-based club over the years while welcoming Primo.

“This partnership means our supporters come first. It means accessibility for our fans nationwide. It means AmaZulu is well on its way to becoming the lifestyle brand it aspires to be," said Zungu.

“It’s exciting that the gear is locally ideated, conceived and crafted, reflecting our ethos and culture.”

Zungu also announced a fan engagement initiative with Amandla Mobile services, allowing supporters to top up airtime, buy data, RICA SIM cards, and purchase club merchandise directly in-store at Vicory Lab outlets nationwide, predominantly in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and the Eastern Cape.

Primo Managing Director, Gian Chidoni, said his brand has the backing of Gemelli Group—a company comprising Clothing Junction, Victory Lab, and SENQU.

The new kit deal will commence in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
