AmaZulu FC’s defender Sandile Mthethwa has outlined what they hope to achieve when meeting fellow South African elite league side Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday.
The two teams will meet at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg while yearning for maximum points in the Betway Premiership. Usuthu are smarting from a loss 3-1 loss to TS Galaxy while AmaKhosi dropped points during their last league game against Marumo Gallants which ended 1-1 last week.
Ahead of the game, Mthethwa said their target is to register a first away win in this Betway Premiership campaign.
“The last game, as much as we lost, but it was a learning curve ahead of the game against Kaizer Chiefs. We are hoping that ahead of the Chiefs we would’ve learnt a lot,” Mthethwa told his club’s website.
“From training you can tell the guys are ready to fix the mistakes we made. Our objective is to win our first game away and it’s very important going to FNB. As much as it won’t be easy, the club has done it before so why not?”

The Arthur Zwane-coached team will be without midfielder Siyanda Hlangabeza due to suspension while Elmo Kambindu is recovering from an injury.
Usuthu have improved this season after winning thrice, drawing twice and also losing twice. Zwane’s men sit in ninth place on the Betway Premiership table with 11 points.
AmaZulu are two steps behind Chiefs who have tasted defeat once while registering four wins and two draws to take their tally to 14 points.
Meanwhile, Chiefs returned to winning ways after seeing off Kaburscop from Angola to progress in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday.
After accomplishing their CAF Confederation Cup mission over the weekend, Chiefs have now switched their focus to domestic assignments.
However, the hosts will be without the services of Given Msimango and Rushwin Dortley due to injuries, but they welcome back striker Khanyisa Mayo. The on-loan forward could not feature for the Soweto giants last weekend as he was not registered for the continental cup.
The Glamour boys have since acknowledged that AmaZulu, coached by Chiefs legend Zwane, are unpredictable opponents.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi remains unavailable for the Soweto giants amid reports that he is on his way out. His right-hand man Cedric Kaze has been holding fort in the absence of the Tunisian.
