Algerian forward Amine Gouiri has been crowned with the Ligue 1 UNFP Best Goal of the Season award for his bicycle kick for Olympique de Marseille against Brest.
The goal, scored on April 27 during Matchday 31, was a moment of pure brilliance. In the 63rd minute, Gouiri controlled a cross from Mason Greenwood on his chest before firing an overhead kick into the net— now earning an official recognition as the season’s most spectacular strike. The match ended in a 4-1 victory for Marseille, with Gouiri scoring a hat-trick.
Since joining from Stade Rennais during the January transfer window, Gouiri has been on fire. He’s scored 13 goals in Ligue 1 this season, with 10 of them coming in just 13 games for Marseille.
His form has been vital in securing Champions League qualification for Marseille, especially after his brace in a 3-1 win over Le Havre confirmed their spot in next season’s elite European competition.
