Amir Richardson eyes Fiorentina exit as FC Copenhagen and Ligue 1 clubs circle

Amir Richardson is set to leave Fiorentina amid high interest from FC Copenhagen and French Ligue 1 sides. The Morocco international is willing to make the move after a difficult half of the season at the Italian side.

Richardson, 23, joined Fiorentina in 2024 from Ligue 1 side Stade Reims. The Nice-born midfielder made only two Serie A appearances for the Florence-based outfit and a further two appearances in the UEFA Conference League. The out-of-favour player has made the decision to leave the club during the winter transfer window, as reported by Le Parisien.

The French publication stated that Danish side FC Copenhagen are in talks to sign Richardson from Fiorentina. The player is keen on the move to gain playing time and force his way back into the Morocco national side. Stade Brest and OGC Nice are also interested in acquiring Richardson.

Richardson was left out of the Morocco national squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Richardson hopes to secure a move elsewhere to fulfill his dream of representing the Atlas Lions on the biggest stage. Richardson has been a Morocco international since 2023. He won the U23 AFCON and an Olympic bronze medal with the junior side in 2023 and 2024.
