Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim praised the workload of Cameroon striker Bryan Mbeumo after he helped the side to secure a 4-2 Premier League win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Reds registered their third consecutive Premier League win with a 4-2 victory over the Seagulls, with Matheus Cunha, Casemiro and Mbeumo (two) all getting on the scoresheet.
Speaking after the game, Amorim was asked the difference the former Brentford striker gives Man United upfront, having scored again in the team’s 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield.
“He’s a working machine. He’s so good in transitions. He’s improving when we are organising the final third. The connection with Amad, it’s really hard to beat these two guys because they change position, they are really fast, they are good in one against one,” Amorim told Man United website.
“My role was, as a manager, to explain what I want from him. But it was more the club. And you guys. We can struggle a lot, but it’s Manchester United.”
He added: “When Manchester United is there, and when we feel that this player wants to come here, no matter what, no matter what the position, no matter if it’s Champions League or not, we also give everything to bring these kind of guys, and that was the case.”
Mbeumo, 26, is currently Manchester United’s top scorer in the Premier League with four goals. His superb form in August earned him the Fans’ Player of the Month award.
Cameroon coach Marc Brys will be pleased that Mbeumo continues to perform well at club level ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifier playoff game against DR Congo on November 13.
