The 25-year-old Central African Republic international took part in his first training session on Friday and joins for the remainder of the current season. Unlike his loan to LaLiga club Levante, there is no option for Angers to purchase the forward on a permanent basis.

Born in the capital city of the Central African Republic, Bangui, he moved to France as a young child and was developed at Chamois Niortais in the west of the country. After graduating to make his professional debut during the 2017-18 campaign, Koyalipou spent a season-and-a-half with Swiss club Lausanne-Sport before making his breakthrough on loan at French fifth tier club Avranches (13 goals in 18 matches).

Further success followed in Belgium with Beveren and at Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia over the next two seasons, where he scored 32 goals in 49 matches before securing his move to current parent club Lens for the second half of last season.

A pure goal scorer who prefers to operate as a striker, Koyalipou’s pace and instincts in the penalty area make him an intriguing option for new club Angers. Les Noirs et Blancs have only managed 20 goals in 19 Ligue 1 matches this season, leaving them in 11th place on the table in the French top flight.

His arrival comes after the club allowed Gabon international Jim Allevinah to leave on loan to Turkish football. Angers lack experienced and proven goal scorers at this level but have a strong defense anchored by the likes of Mali central defender Ousmane Camara.

Koyalipou will be eligible to make his debut on Sunday when Angers host Metz.
