Angola international M’Bala Nzola was on target but could not help RC Lens overcome Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in a 2-1 French Ligue 1 defeat at Parc des Princes on Saturday.

After a cagey start from both sides, it was the impressive M’Bala Nzola, who put the home side ahead against the run of play in the 36th minute when he drilled home with superb effort.

Lens looked comfortable throughout the remainder of the half to go into the break with a 1-0 cushion. However, PSG came into the second period a more rejuvenated side and they drew level in the 59th minute courtesy of Fabian Ruiz.

The goal somehow gave PSG the push to go for more and they were rewarded in the 86th minute when Bradley Barcola powered home the second for their 14th win of the season.

The win enabled PSG to cement their stay at the top of the league table with 46 points from 18 matches while Lens kept their seventh spot with 27 points from 17 matches.

The Angolan star has so far scored five Ligue 1 goals from 13 matches and provided one assist. Lens will next host Angers at Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday, January 26.
