Angolan fans show up to Pyramids FC training to support Congolese striker Fiston Mayele

A group of Angolan fans attended Pyramids FC's first training session in Luanda to cheer for the team and show their support ahead of the crucial CAF Champions League clash against local club Sagrada.


Pyramids will face Sagrada at 4 PM GMT on Saturday at Estádio 11 de Novembro in the Angolan capital as part of the fifth round of the group stage.


The fans chanted for Pyramids and its players throughout the session with some holding up a shirt featuring the image of Congolese international striker Fiston Mayele, calling out his name continuously.


Mayele shared his immense gratitude for the warm reception he received from the Angolan fans, who attended training, cheered for him and Pyramids, and even held up shirts bearing his image.


He expressed his happiness at the support in pre-match comments and vowed to repay their kindness by scoring in Saturday’s match to bring joy to those who supported him and Pyramids in Luanda.


Group D standings in the CAF Champions League:


1. Espérance (Tunisia): 7 points.


2. Pyramids (Egypt): 7 points. (on goal difference)


3. Sagrada (Angola): 5 points.


4. Djoliba (Mali): 2 points.
