Antoine Semenyo scores to propel Bournemouth to third win

Ghana international forward Antoine Semenyo came to the rescue of Bournemouth in their 2-1 home win over Brighton in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The Cherries came in for serious business at the Vitality Stadium having won their last two games of the premier league.

Andoni Iraola’s men fired themselves ahead when Alex Scott made no mistake with Semenyo’s 18th minute assist. They held on to the slim lead moving into the break.

The Seagulls however left no stone unturned, going hard in search of the equalizer.

Japan national team forward Kaoru Mitoma rose to the occasion for the visitors when he leapt above Bournemouth defenders to head the equalizer from Yankuba Minteh’s perfect cross in the 48th minute.

The last big bite of the cherry fell the way of Ghana striker Semenyo, who took advantage of a VAR awarded penalty to win the day in the 61st minute.

Semenyo has now scored three goals in four matches for Bournemouth who have now claimed nine points from four games this campaign.
