Antoine Semenyo increased his season tally to four goals in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw at Leeds United on Saturday.
Leeds United came from an inspiring 3-1 comeback win at Wolves last weekend and were looking to add Bournemouth to their casualties. The visitors however had other ideas when Semenyo silenced the crowd at Elland Road in the 26th minute.
The 25-year-old swept in a thundering low free kick to send the Cherries fans into raptures. However, eleven minutes after Semenyo’s opener for Bournemouth, Joe Rodon leveled for Leeds United to calm the home fans.
After both sides hung on for a 1-1 halftime scoreline, Leeds fired ahead from the boot of Sean Longstaff in the 54th minute. The Whites looked like running away with a 2-1 victory until Bournemouth sprang up with a surprise late in the game.
French youngster Eli Kroupi Junior rose to the occasion to score the leveler in added time to keep Bournemouth in fourth on 11 points from six matches.
Semenyo now has four goals in six matches in the Premier League as the Ghanaian international continues his hot start to the 2025-26 season. Up next for the Cherries is a home match against Fulham on October 3.
