Bournemouth striker, Antoine Semenyo has earned massive plaudits from former Ghana international, Matthew Amoah following his sterling performance in the English Premier League this season.

The 25-year-old has been in red hot form for the Cherries, scoring 7 goals in 27 Premier League games this term under Spanish manager, Andoni Iraola.

Amoah, who played 45 times, scoring 12 goals with two FIFA World Cups under his belt for Ghana, has praised Antoine Semenyo for his impressive performances at Bournemouth.

“He’s doing his job very well at a club that also appreciates his work and efforts, with fans singing his name day in and day out."

Amoah, a member of Ghana’s silver medal winning team at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, has poured cold water on Semenyo moving to Tottenham Hotspur.

“Bournemouth are currently a better team than Tottenham and seem more stable with a very good coach. So, joining a club that is far behind would be a demotion that makes no footballing sense."

Semenyo is expected to be called up for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.

The Black Stars will face Chad on March 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to tackle Madagascar in the second game of the month for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana sits second in group I of the qualifiers, sharing nine points with Comoros from four matches and must win their two fixtures to increase their chances of an automatic qualification for the World Cup hosted by Mexico, Canada and the USA next year.
