The Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation has officially contacted the Egyptian Football Association to request the services of international referee Mahmoud Ashour.
Ashour has been invited to join the officiating team for the 26th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, which will take place in Kuwait from December 21, 2024, to January 3, 2025.
Notably, Ashour recently served as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. He officiated in five football matches, including Spain vs. Japan, France vs. Guinea, Germany vs. Zambia, the men's final between Spain and France, and the women's final between the USA and Brazil.
The Arabian Gulf Cup is a regional national team competition that features eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Oman and Yemen). This opportunity for Ashour highlights his vast experience and the high regard in which he is held on the international stage.
