Ethiopian Premier League strugglers Arbaminch Ketema have a new head coach after naming Addise Kasa earlier today to replace former Ethiopian international Abebaw Butako. The Crocodiles, as they are nicknamed, have failed to register a single win this season as their abysmal league campaign continues.
Arbaminch Ketema sacked head coach Bereket Demu after ten rounds of games, citing a poor run of form. His successor was Butako, a former Saint George and Ethiopia national team left back. Under Butako, the club failed to secure maximum points in their last seven league outings, prompting the club board to announce Kasa as the new head coach.
The board stated that poor results forced management to seek a new trainer after the club’s most recent result, a 2-3 defeat on Sunday to Fasil Kenema in Addis Ababa during Week 17 of the Ethiopian Premier League.
Butako will remain on the coaching staff after being demoted to an assistant role. Kasa, a league veteran, is tasked with helping Arbaminch avoid relegation to the second division. He has previously coached top-flight clubs such as Sidama Coffee and Hawassa Ketema.
Arbaminch Ketema are bottom of the standings with eight points.
