Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Karim Zito has reacted to their epic Ghana Premier League week 19 fixture against GoldStars at the Duns Park on Saturday.
The Porcupine Warriors managed to squeeze a goalless draw against former champions Berekum Chelsea last weekend and are faced with a tough test against the reigning champions.
Ahead of the game, coach Karim Zito expressed confidence in picking all three points despite admitting that it will be a difficult fixture.
“It wasn’t good for us in the last two games so we have to stay focused and continue fighting for our target so we are going all out there though it will be difficult but it’s not beyond our reach,” Karim Zito told Kotoko TV.
“If you go back into history, we drew with them before we played the Champion-of-Champions which we were able to beat them so I think it is very difficult but it’s not impossible.
“You see it is very difficult on paper but it is not impossible. We know it is very difficult, it is not easy to beat them there but we’ve done it before and we can repeat it.”
Head coach of GoldStars, Fritz Markus Schmid shared some words ahead of the game.
“Preparation was good, we had a good week, we had some good sessions, all the players are fit so we are looking forward to Saturday’s game.”
Asante Kotoko currently sit in 5th on 31 points from 18 games and they will likely field striker Albert Amoah who returned to the club on loan from Libyan outfit, Al Ahly Benghazi. GoldStars on the other hand share 32 points with Hearts of Oak Aduana FC.
