Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku sets sights on domestic double

Asante Kotoko have an opportunity to win a domestic double this – sitting in 4th on the Ghana Premier League table on 54 points same as Heart of Lions, two behind second placed Gold Stars and three away from leaders Nations FC.

With three matches to draw the curtains on the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, the Porcupine Warriors will look to claim a double as they are in the finals of the MTN FA Cup where they will lock horns against Division One League club, Golden Kicks at the Legon Stadium on June 15.

Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has declared that the club must end the current campaign with a trophy.

“For the FA Cup, we can’t go trophyless this season, no, it’s not happening,” he said. “We are hoping that by the end of the season, we’ll lift a trophy. If not the league, then we must win the FA Cup for Asanteman.”

Kwame Opoku netted twice and registered an assist in Kotoko’s emphatic 4-1 win over Dreams FC in week 31 at the Baba Yara Stadium last weekend.

The 24-year-old forward has now scored 10 goals across all competitions for the record Ghana Premier League holders.
