ASC Jaraaf win first Senegal Ligue 1 title since 2018

ASC Jaraaf have been crowned champions of the Senegal Ligue 1 for the 2024/25 season. The Dakar-based club needed a win on the final day to clinch the title in Week 30. Jaraaf secured the championship for the first time since 2018.

Jaraaf defeated ASC HLM 4–1 away, while second-placed US Gorée fell to Guédiawaye. Gorée’s loss allowed Jaraaf to secure the title for the 13th time in their history. Under the guidance of Malick Daf, Jaraaf enjoyed an excellent season—reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup and narrowly missing out on a quarterfinal spot.

Jaraaf finished the season with 54 points, three ahead of Gorée. Speaking to Wiwsport, Daf described the title race as intense. “We remained focused from start to finish. We knew we had to win. There was no way we were going to settle for a draw when we were neck and neck with US Gorée.”

Jaraaf will now turn their attention to completing a domestic double as they face Génération Foot in the final of the Senegal Cup.
