Ivorian attacking midfielder Salifou Diarrassouba has joined Switzerland top tier club Grasshoppers for the upcoming football season from Abidjan giants ASEC Mimosas.
Diarrassouba joins on a contract until 2027 with an option to extend for another year, the club announced. The 23-year-old is not new to Swiss football having previously played for St. Gallen for two seasons on loan before making a return to ASEC in 2022.
Grasshoppers sporting director Alain Sutter, who had a spell at St. Gallen from 2018, will be glad to welcome the former Burkina Faso U-20 national team midfielder to the squad as they look to battle for honours next season.
The attacking player made 14 appearances in the Super League for St Gallen, scoring one goal. Diarrassouba then played for Ivorian record champions ASEC Mimosas after leaving the side.
He is capped four times by the Ivory Coast senior national team after collecting three appearances with Burkina Faso U-20 in 2019. Grasshoppers finished 10th in the regular season last term on 33 points from 33 league games.
