Italian Serie A club Como have given a positive update on the injury situation of young Senegal forward Assane Diao.
Diao, 20, who has been injured for the past two months, has resumed training with the Blue and Whites but he will have to wait a little longer before returning to competitive action.

While his absence has unfortunately been prolonged, Assane Diao has reportedly reached an important stage in his recovery.
The Como attacker, injured since December 15, 2025, and absent from the Africa Cup of Nations, has resumed training, according to his coach, Cesc Fabregas.
“Diao resumed training (on Thursday),” Cesc Fabregas announced at a press conference on Friday,
“He could return for the match against Lecce (February 28) or the one against Inter Milan (in the Coppa Italia semi-final). That might be the right time.”
Diao made six appearances in the Serie A before being forced out with a hamstring injury in December 2025, a situation that saw him dropped out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where Senegal defeated hosts 1-0 to lift their second trophy.
He joined Como from La Liga side Real Betis in a deal worth €12 million after his formative years at Betis Deportivo, Balon de Cadiz and Badajoz.
Diao has just two caps for Senegal and is yet to score for the two time African champions since switching allegiance to from Spain where he played for U-18, U-19 and U-21 sides.
