Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric described Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman as ‘a winner with incredible determination’ following his superb display in the 1-1 Serie A draw against AC Milan at Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday.
After Samuele Ricci put the away team ahead, the Super Eagles winger levelled matters for Atalanta in the 35th minute.
Speaking afterwards, Juric explained why he has faith in the Nigerian star, and further said he will score many goals in subsequent matches.
“I think we pushed him (Lookman) to play more than perhaps he should’ve done in these games because we wanted him to achieve match fitness,” Juric told DAZN Italia.
“He is a particular type of guy, but in training and on the pitch, he is a sight to behold, just a spectacular player. A winner, with incredible determination, and I am very happy for him.
“We were only talking yesterday. He said if he trains like this, the goal will come, and today he scored a great goal.”
The vital point enabled Atalanta to move up one place to ninth with 13 points from nine matches. Since recovering from injury, Lookman has featured five times in Serie A this season, scoring one goal.
