English Championship club Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of Sierra Leone attacker Augustus Kargbo.
Kargbo joins the former English champions from Italian Serie B side, Cesena on a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2027. The former Reggiana forward is known for his explosive playing style and strong performance which includes helping Cesena achieve promotion to Serie B last season.
He has previously played for Italy clubs such as Campobasso and Crotone, displaying impressive scoring abilities throughout his career.
“Rovers are delighted to secure the signature of Sierra Leone international Augustus Kargbo on a permanent deal,” stated Blackburn Rovers FC on their official website.
The announcement marks the third signing for Blackburn during the January transfer window, alongside former Plymouth Argyle midfielder Adam Forshaw and defender Dion Sanderson from Birmingham City.
With 21 caps for Sierra Leone and five goals to his name for the national team, Kargbo aims to replicate his scoring prowess with the Blackburn Rovers in the current season.
