Ethiopia women national side head coach Yoseph Gebreweld has called up his provisional squad to face Uganda this February in African Women Cup of Nations qualifier doubleheader.
Gebreweld’s team is largely composed of local giants Commercial Bank of Ethiopia players. CBE has nine players in the national side roster. Striker Senaf Waquma is included alongside veteran midfielder Birtukan Gebrekristos.

Gebreweld also called up three players from abroad. The notable one is star striker Loza Abera. The former Dedebit and CBE forward is now on the cards of U.S. side DC Power. Young Africans duo Aregash Kalesa and Ariet Udong are also summoned for camp.
EDIT: Despite being called up, the Ethiopian Football Federation put out a statement to announce veteran midfielder Birtukan Gebrekirstos's retirement from the national team:
"Veteran midfielder Birtukan Gebrekirstos has decided to retire from international football although she had been included in the national side to face Uganda. The CBE midfielder played for Lucy for more than two decades as she appeared in three WAFCON tournaments and scored one goal in 2004. She is the longest serving member of the national side. Gebrekirstos won league titles with Dedebit and CBE. Known for her technical skill she is regarded as one of the best women footballer to ever come from Ethiopia.'
The team entered a residential camp in Addis Ababa and it is expected that the coach will trim the squad after the Djibouti friendly. Lucy last qualified for the WAFCON in 2012.
