Uganda Premier League club KCCA FC have strengthened their ranks with the signing of Gabonese attacking midfielder Axel Mezui.
The gangling playmaker joins the Kasasiro Boys from Gabonese outfit Football Canon 105, signing a two-year and four-month deal that will keep him at Lugogo until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Axel Mezui shared his excitement about joining KCCA FC who are eying the current league title.
“I am incredibly happy and proud to join KCCA FC, a club with such a rich history and ambitious future. I have heard great things about the club, the fans, and the league,” he told the club’s website.
“I am eager to get started, meet my new teammates, and contribute my best to help the team achieve its goals and bring more silverware to Lugogo.”
Mezui, 25, has been with Gabonese side Football Canon 105 since 2024 where his sterling performance held the KCCA FC technical team spellbound.

“His stature, combined with his attacking flair and vision, makes him a formidable addition to the squad,” part of a piece on the club’s website explained the inclusion of the player into their set-up.
KCCA FC have expressed belief that Axel Mezui’s experience and quality will be important as they sit in 5th in the Ugandan Premier League with 33 points, five points behind leaders Vipers after 17 matches this campaign.
