Babajide eyes maiden WAFCON silverware with Super Falcons

Super Falcons forward and Women’s Africa Cup of Nation (WAFCON) debutant Omorinsola Babajide has affirmed her determination to win Nigeria’s 10th title.

Babajide is among the eleven Super Falcons players that will be making their maiden appearance at the competition. Speaking with Super Falcons media, the former UD Tenerife forward revealed her mission ahead of the tournament.

“My personal goal is to make my debut and I wanna contribute as much as I can to the team’s winnings, goals, assists, and I really wanna win my first senior silverware,” she said.

Justine Madugu’s side have set their sights on reclaiming the title they lost to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa three years ago in Morocco.

Nigeria is set to face Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria in Group B at the upcoming 2024 WAFCON. Super Falcons will begin their quest for a 10th WAFCON title against Tunisia in Casablanca on Sunday.
