Bajaber ruled out as McCarthy names final Harambee Stars squad for Chad friendly

Kenya Police FC midfielder Mohammed Bajaber has been ruled out of Harambee Stars’ upcoming friendlies against Chad after sustaining a right thigh injury in training on Tuesday.


A statement from Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirmed the absence of the youngster by saying: “Team doctor Wycliffe Makanga confirmed the injury, ruling Bajaber out of the trip to Morocco. No replacement has been named, with 23 players set to travel tonight for the matches scheduled for 7th and 10th June in Marrakech.


"We wish Bajaber a quick and full recovery.”


Meanwhile, the South African coach officially named the final travelling squad for the two friendlies against Chad set to be played in Marrakech, Morocco, on 7th and 10th June.


The team departed Nairobi for Rabat on Wednesday ahead of the back-to-back matches, which form part of Kenya’s preparations for upcoming international competitions.


Final squad;


Goalkeepers: Brian Bwire, Faruk Shikalo, Sepstianos Wekesa.


Defenders: Brian Mandela, Alphoce Omija, Sylvester Owino, Siraj Mohammed, Abud Omar, Daniel Sakari, Swaleh Pamba, Lewis Bandi.


Midfielders: Brian Musa, Alpha Onyango, Austine Odhiambo, Ben Stanley Omondi, Boniface Muchiri, William Lenkupae, Adam Wilson, James Kinyanjui, David Sakwa.


Forwards: Beja Nyamawi, Moses Shumah, Emmanuel Osoro.
