DR Congo forward Cedric Bakambu has expressed his team’s readiness ahead of their crucial showdown against Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Round of 16.
Algeria will face DR Congo on Tuesday at 4:00 PM GMT at the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Bakambu said:
“The match against Algeria will be an opportunity for DR Congo to show its value and quality.”
He added:
“We hope to continue improving our performances and developing further against strong teams.”
The experienced striker stressed that the squad is prepared for the challenge:
“We are well prepared to face Algeria, and the players’ morale is very high ahead of the match.”
Bakambu concluded by underlining the team’s focus:
“We are not paying attention to what is being said in the media or on social media. Our full concentration is only on the match against Algeria.”
The winner of the encounter will advance to the quarter-finals, where they will face Nigeria Super Eagles.
Algeria topped Group E with a perfect nine points, while DR Congo finished second in Group D with seven points, level on points with Senegal but behind on goal difference.
