A source inside Al Ahly has revealed details regarding FC Barcelona’s interest in signing the club’s promising 17-year-old talent Hamza Abdel Karim.
Spanish media reports recently indicated that Barcelona are monitoring the young Egyptian forward, who has emerged as one of the standout prospects of his age group.
Speaking to Yalla Kora, an Al Ahly source clarified the situation:
“What happened is only a verbal inquiry so far,” the source said.
He added that Abdel Karim had signed with a European marketing agency shortly before the U-17 FIFA World Cup, and that the agency approached the Egyptian club to ask about the possibility of the player traveling to Barcelona for an initial trial period.
“Al Ahly have no objection if an official letter arrives,” the source continued.
“The club also won’t oppose his move abroad if matters become serious and a formal offer is submitted.”
Hamza Abdel Karim recently represented Egypt at the U-17 World Cup and is currently training with Al Ahly’s first team, reflecting the significant confidence the club places in his potential.
