Barker remains cautious as Simba take on TRA United

Simba SC coach Steve Barker has revealed his game plan as they get ready for their Mainland Premier League fixture against TRA United on Saturday.

While the Msimbazi Reds are currently sitting fourth in the league table, TRA United are placed ninth. Despite the huge difference in points between the two sides, Barker has maintained Simba must play to perfection to triumph.

Barker further maintained it is not easy to underrate an opponent in the top-flight maintaining the Tanzania league was one of the most difficult leagues.

Simba must play to full potential

“Our opponents are a very good team, the league is very competitive, I found it to be a league that if you don’t play to full potential, and you don’t play according to way that you have prepared, then it does become difficult,” Barker told Pan-Africa Football.

“We have prepared well, our preparations have just been happening over the last two minutes, not just two-day preparations. I think we started to build on the way we want to play.

“We are building in a way that allows us to be a team that can apply pressure on the opposition, and at the same time be a difficult side to play against. So, yeah, preparations have gone well, and we want to come and get a win.

Simba have no injury concerns

On any injury concerns, he said: “We travelled here very nicely, with full of health, I know all the players are in good spirit, and we are looking forward to bring a good performance because if we don’t play to our full potential, it will become a difficult fixture.”

Barker added: “We have to make sure that wherever we have prepared, and what we have planned to do, we need to execute it to perfection.”

Simba have so far accumulated 27 points from 12 matches while TP United are 10 points behind Simba after garnering 19 points from 14 matches.
