Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has called on his squad to bounce back in the Mainland Premier League by defeating Singida Black Stars in a fixture at Airtel Stadium on Wednesday.
The Msimbazi Reds will go into the fixture at the backdrop of drawing two consecutive matches in the top-flight. After their 2-0 win against Tanzania Prisons, Simba went ahead to draw 0-0 against rivals Young Africans, and 0-0 against Dodoma Jiji.

The South African coach has now called on his players to make it count when they face a Singida side, who lost their last assignment 3-0 against Young Africans, and will be seeking to bounce back on home soil.
“It is nice to be here at Singida, yeah, I think obviously it is a massive game for us,” Barker told Pan-Africa Football. “We have come off two goalless draws in the league, so it is very important first to get ourselves back on track.
“We need to win and get maximum points, but we do understand Singida are a difficult team, they are having a good season. Last year they were a very competitive team and well coached.
“We have to make sure that tomorrow (Wednesday), we play to our full potential and we put in a performance that gives us opportunities to win the game, so, to all our fans as I keep on promising, we will give our 100 percent, and commitment on the field.
“We will prepare the best that we can to ensure that we continue making them proud. We are looking forward to the game, a big game for sure.”
Simba player Daudi Semfuko, said: “We are here in Singida to win the game, we know it will not be an easy match but we have the confidence of returning home with maximum points.
“We have studied Singida and know how they play. We don’t fear them. We are ready to put our best performance against them.”
Singida’s Kenyan coach David Ouma maintained their focus was to win the game because they are motivated and will be playing at home.
“Singida is motivated towards the game, and what makes it even good for us is that we will be playing at home,” said Ouma. “We know we have a good opportunity to beat Simba, and we will use the chance to the maximum.
“We know the opponent is a tough one, they have good development. They have signed new players, and they are playing with high intensity, and direct style, but as Singida we will play our game, we will keep attacking, and we know we will win.”
While Simba are sitting third on the table with 24 points from 11 matches, Singida are placed ninth with 19 points from 12 matches.
