The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially named Bashir Mutyaba as its new Football Development Director, marking a strategic shift in the federation’s technical leadership.
Mutyaba succeeds Ali Mwebe, who was recently appointed by FIFA to serve as a Regional Technical Consultant, a move FUFA described as a “commendable milestone” for Ugandan football on the global stage.
“We are pleased to announce that Mr. Bashir Mutyaba has been appointed as the new Football Development Director of FUFA,” the federation confirmed in a statement released on its official website.
His appointment takes effect on August 1, 2025.
A seasoned football administrator and technical expert, Mutyaba has played a key role in shaping youth football structures across the country. He has served within FUFA’s Development Department for years, contributing to grassroots programs, youth competitions, and talent development initiatives.
FUFA expressed confidence in Mutyaba’s ability to steer the federation’s football development agenda forward, building on the foundations laid by his predecessor.
With his deep understanding of football structures and a track record of impactful development work, Mutyaba’s elevation is expected to further enhance FUFA’s commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening football from the grassroots to elite level.
