Libyan club Al-Majd SC have officially announced the signing of Egyptian striker Bassem Morsy, who joins the team on a free transfer to strengthen their attacking line for the ongoing period.

Morsy arrives after his contract with Tala’ea El Gaish expired. The experienced forward struggled for game time last season, making just five appearances and accumulating 97 minutes in total.

Al-Majd introduced their new signing through a video on their official social media accounts, showcasing highlights from Morsy’s career. The post was captioned:

“Welcome the Egyptian international striker Bassem Morsy, coming from the land of the pyramids to write a new chapter of brilliance and creativity with Al-Majd. Welcome to the Al-Majd family, and we wish you all the best.”

Throughout his career, Morsy has represented several Egyptian clubs, including Zamalek, Ismaily, National Bank, Tala’ea El Gaish, Smouha, Ceramica Cleopatra, Misr El-Maqassa, and El Entag El Harby.

During his time with Zamalek SC, Bassem Morsy enjoyed notable success, winning the Egyptian Premier League once and lifting the Egypt Cup three times — in 2014/15, 2015/16, and 2017/18 — along with the Egyptian Super Cup in 2015/16.

The move to Libya marks Morsy’s second experience abroad, following a spell in Greece with AEL Larissa, where he made five appearances without finding the net.
