Bayelsa Queens announce double attacking signing ahead of next season

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions, Bayelsa Queens have boostered thire attacking option with the duo signing of Janet Akekoromowei from Nasarawa Amazons and Lucky Mary from Abia Angels.

The two signings where announced Thursday July, 3 2025 via the clubs official X (formerly Twitter) handle which confirmed the arrival.

Speaking on her arrival to her new home the second highest goal scorer of the 2024/25 season, Akekoromowei while putting pen to paper expressed her joy in joining the club.

“I’m excited to join Bayelsa Queens and can’t wait to give my best for this great club.”

Meanwhile the exciting forward in who is brought in to strengthen the squad who is building a team capable of competing at the highest level, said she is going to give her best.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity and ready to give my best for Bayelsa Queens.”

Akekoromowei who scored 13 goals, two shy from the league top scorer, will wear the number 9 jersey while Lucky will don the number 13 of the six time champions.

The new signings reflects the commitment of the 2024/25 champions to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the CAF Women’s Champions League and the upcoming NWFL Premiership season.
