Bayelsa Queens to kick off NWFL season against Edo Queens

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has confirmed the kickoff date for the 2025-26 League season.

The upcoming NWFL season will kick-off on Wednesday, 26 November and will feature 20 teams divided into two zones of 10.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens are going to open the new season as they take on Edo Queens in the opening match of the season. Group A will feature Bayelsa Queens, alongside Adamawa Queens, Pacesetter Queens, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, Naija Ratels FC, Ibom Angels, Castmog Ladies, and Rivers Angels

Group B will be led by last season’s runners-up Nasarawa Amazons, competing with Confluence Queens, Delta Queens, Sunshine Queens, Ahudiyannem Queens, Dannaz Ladies, Remo Stars Ladies, Osun Babes, Abia Angels, and FC Robo Queens.

The season will also welcome three debutants, Ahudiyannem Queens, Castmog Ladies, and Pacesetter Queens, who earned promotion through strong performances in the Championship playoffs.
