Bayelsa United set to appoint Monday Odigie as new technical adviser

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Bayelsa United are reportedly set to appoint experienced tactician Monday Odigie as their new technical adviser.

The move comes after Odigie, who resigned from Bendel Insurance last season, reportedly has agreed to coach the Prosperity Boys. He will replace coach Ladan Bosso, who left the former Federation Cup champions to join newly promoted side Barau FC.

Odigie has been without a club since resigning from Bendel Insurance midway through last season. He comes with a strong track record, having guided Bendel Insurance to a triumphant victory in the 2023 President Federation Cup.

He guided Bendel Insurance to victory in the 2023 President Federation Cup and previously served as assistant coach with Enyimba in 2014. Odigie was also an assistant coach with Enyimba in 2014, and he has a history with Bayelsa United, having managed the club from 2008 to 2010.
