Eliesse Ben Seghir is on the verge of sealing a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen from AS Monaco. The Moroccan international is keen on the switch as he plans to leave the French club this summer.
At the end of the 2024/25 season, Monaco officials defended head coach Adi Hütter’s handling of the winger. Nonetheless, Ben Seghir was unhappy with the club, feeling that his playing time had diminished during the season.

Bayer Leverkusen saw their opening bid for the 20-year-old Moroccan international rejected by Monaco but are now closing in on a deal.
Leverkusen recently sold Moroccan attacking midfielder Amine Adli to English Premier League side Bournemouth, and Ben Seghir is seen as his likely replacement.
The principality club values Ben Seghir at €35 million, while Leverkusen’s initial €25 million offer was rejected a few days ago, according to L’Équipe.
Ben Seghir came on as a second-half substitute in Monaco’s 3–1 win over Le Havre on the opening weekend of the season.
