Belgian top flight side Club Brugge have confirmed the termination of Kamal Sowah’s contract. The current situation makes the Ghanaian attacking midfielder available to discuss terms with other suitors.
The 25-year-old has struggled for playing time this season and did not feature for the club in the first half of the season. Club Brugge announced the mutual agreement to release Sowah on Thursday. The club’s statement stated, “Kamal Sowah and Club Brugge have agreed to terminate their contract by mutual consent today.”
Sowah joined the Belgian side in 2021 from English Premier League side Leicester FC after sterling performances during a loan spell at fellow Belgian club OH Leuven. The Right to Dream Academy product spent the 2023-24 season on loan in the same division with Standard Liège where he produced two goals. He won the Jupiler Pro League with Club Brugge in the 2021-22 season and the Belgian Super Cup in 2022.
The one-time capped Ghana international also had a loan spell with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar where he made eight appearances during the 2021-22 season. The Ghanaian attacker made a total of 53 appearances in all competition for Club Brugge, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
